Etienne Hus is a songwriter, born in the north of France in the 1960s and inspired by the legacy of 1970s progressive rock - from Pink Floyd to Genesis.
Music has always been in his blood since a very young age. It was in 1973, when he bought the album The Dark Side Of The Moon that he had a revelation.
He has since started composing music in his head and has never stopped. He hosted many music evenings in the North and Brittany throughout his youth but never really invested in musical composition.
It was at the age of 30, after his studies and a few years of work, that he took piano, music theory, and harmony lessons. He began composing on Pro24 and then Cubase on Atari. But having a very busy professional life in the company he had created, he didn't have time to get serious about it.
Then in 2020, Covid stopped everything... No more phone, no more orders, it was the right time. So, he got back to composing seriously. He acquired some equipment and composed a first piece entitled Bréhat Island, a trip to the island of Bréhat where he spent a lot of time in his youth. This piece was entirely musical at first, without vocals but with a voiceover. His friends, who listened to it, encouraged him to continue; they thought the title was pretty good.
So, he continued until he composed 10 instrumental tracks, always on the theme of Brittany, where he spent all his holidays between the ages of 5 and 25.
It was in 2023, on the advice of his friends, that he wrote the lyrics and added the vocals. In the meantime, he took mixing and mastering lessons with Jaff, a sound engineer at La Cabane à son in the Paris region.
So, after four years of work, in 2024, he released his progressive rock album "Welcome to Brittany". He is currently working on his second album, which is more assertive and rockier...
